Deploying Online Surveys to Collect Feedback

By: Rohitchhibber

There are many ways and methods by which organisations can obtain feedback from its customers. One of them is using surveys. Particularly, online surveys make it easy to ask the public for information by asking them to complete online questionnaires. Using online surveys reduces response bias and enables an organisation to quickly collect feedback. It also increases participation, since clients can respond when they have time, they are not bothered by pesky phone calls.
Online client classification surveys are now a common method used by organisations to obtain information from clients to improve their products and services. Creating effective client satisfaction surveys requires consideration of important factors in terms of processes and in terms of informational requirements.
The surveys which are conducted via the internet need to be drafted in such a way that the organisation’s needs in terms of information to collect are properly identified before the deployment of the online surveys. The client classification online surveys should satisfy at least couple of the following conditions. There needs to be the space for the customers to provide negative feedback about the product or the service for which the survey is being conducted. Ideally, the survey should ask open ended questions where clients can explain any problems they encountered. The survey should also include quantitative questions that evaluate the overall satisfaction of clients. There also needs to be proper feedback management processes without which conducting the online survey can result in a waste of money and time.
Proper feedback management includes two components. First, it includes dealing with negative feedback in real-time. If a client indicates they are not satisfied when completing an online survey, action should be taken as soon as possible to try to rectify the situation in order to avoid loosing the client. Second, proper analysis of aggregate statistics must be conducted in order to spot trends, both negative and positive.
Proper feedback management is generally achieved by the use of an enterprise feedback management platform. A proper deployment of an enterprise feedback management platform will ensure that incoming feedback is addressed and properly managed. By integrating the use of enterprise feedback management in its processes, an organisation can ensure that appropriate feedback is collected, and that the collected feedback is properly acted upon.

Link Exchange

By: Patrick McGraw

Link Exchange is probably the most important parts for search engines(Google) use for ranking your website. What they want is to see how many different websites are pointing back to you.

The important part of exchanging links is the quality of links. Search engines don’t care anymore on how many websites that are linked back to you. It matters on relevant links that are totally relevant to your site.

For an example:

Say you have a site consist of making ebooks. You search the web looking for partners to exchange links with, no matter what topics are on there website.

So you spent a couple of months establishing partnership with 100 link partners that agree to put a link back to your site in an exchange for a link to theirs. their’s a big problem here. Out of a 100 shared links only 60 are related topics are related to making ebooks.

The search engines(Google) send out the web spider(web crawler) to search the web. They check your backlinks. The web spider don’t add those links pointing to your site that are not related to your theme. Bottom line, they are viewed as irrelevant from a search engines point of view.

So that’s why it’s very important when searching for partners online to share links that you look for sites tht are related to your websites theme. If your site is related to making ebooks you want to find websites that are related to ebooks. It will help your site in the long run with search engines.

Contextual Links

Contextual links are links that appear withen context of an article. Let’s say you have a site about dogs and you’re writing an article about dog food. And you know of a great site that has great recipes of dog food and you want to mention it within your article.

This does the website owner a huge favor because that link is surrounded by context that is related to there site. Search engines will pick up on this and it will give the sites”points’.

So when your exchanging links with someone, don’t just put their

Youtube Marketing

By: Annetta Powell

Unless you have been living in an extremely remote area with no outside communication for the last 10 years, you must be familiar with what YouTube.com is.  Yes, it is usually most famous in the mountains of ridiculous or hilarious videos that random people around the world post, but did you know that is can be equally important as a marketing tool for your business of all types? How is it important for a business, you might ask?

Video Networking

On YouTube, there is no limit to the different things you can advertise and how many videos that you want to make. You can advertise a variety of different sites and products without losing your targeted prospective customers.  Honestly, the more diverse your products and services are, the more customers you could possibly gain from these types of advertisements.

YouTube is not just about teens and young adults anymore.  You can reach a variety of age groups because almost everyone uses it today.  Your perspective customers also have the opportunity to ask you questions and give you important feedback on your posted videos. This does not only serve the customers that might have questions, but it will also help you to keep your videos current.  You will be able to see clearly what type of marketing techniques work in bringing in new customers and which ones do not, because they will simply tell you!

Small Businesses

YouTube is excellent for newly started or small businesses because of the amount of exposure you can get for little or no money at all.  You can always opt to pay for front page advertising, but you can also upload your own commercial or intro video absolutely free.

Exposure is what keeps small businesses alive and YouTube is available almost everywhere around the world.  Anyone with a medium to high speed internet connection has the opportunity to browse it.  This means that your little start up business can now be connected with worldwide access to people you have never been able to connect with before.

The use of tags to classify and organize videos is another excellent asset for any type of business.  A common marketing tool is to pay for advertisements on a search engine when certain keywords are used in the search bar.  Tagging your video serves the same purpose on your YouTube site.

For instance, if you have a small company that sells purses or bags, then you can tag your video with keywords relevant to purses, bags, fashion and lots of others.  When someone types something like Purse Store or Buy Purses into the YouTube search bar, your video will appear in one of the results pages.

YouTube can work wonders for any type of business that wants to reach additional prospects and customers while keeping their current customers happy.  Like the other social media websites (Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal, Blogger, etc) it would be a horribly wasted resource for you to not use them in promoting your business.  For more information on YouTube Marketing, please visit my blog at http://www.annettapowellonline.com.   See you there!

Yours sincerely

Wikipedia History

By: Tom

Nupedia was founded on March 9, 2000, under the ownership of Bomis, Inc, a web portal company. Its main figures were Jimmy Wales, Bomis CEO, and Larry Sanger, editor-in-chief for Nupedia and later Wikipedia. Nupedia was licensed initially under its own Nupedia Open Content License, switching to the GNU Free Document

Larry Sanger and Jimmy Wales founded Wikipedia. While Wales is credited with defining the goal of making a publicly editable encyclopedia, Sanger is usually credited with the strategy of using a wiki to reach that goal. On January 10, 2001, Larry Sanger proposed on the Nupedia mailing list to create a wiki as a “feeder” project for Nupedia. Wikipedia was formally launched on January 15, 2001, as a single English-language edition at www.wikipedia.com, and announced by Sanger on the Nupedia mailing list. Wikipedia’s policy of “neutral point-of-view” was codified in its initial months, and was similar to Nupedia’s earlier “nonbiased” policy. Otherwise, there were relatively few rules initially and Wikipedia operated independently of Nupedia.

Wikipedia gained early contributors from Nupedia, Slashdot postings, and web search engine indexing. It grew to approximately 20,000 articles and 18 language editions by the end of 2001. By late 2002, it had reached 26 language editions, 46 by the end of 2003, and 161 by the final days of 2004. Nupedia and Wikipedia coexisted until the former’s servers were taken down permanently in 2003, and its text was incorporated into Wikipedia. English Wikipedia passed the 2 million-article mark on September 9, 2007, making it the largest encyclopedia ever assembled, eclipsing even the Yongle Encyclopedia (1407), which had held the record for exactly 600 years.

Auto Respond Email Basics: What You Need to Know

By: Paul Cummings

An auto respond email is needed if you receive hundreds of emails everyday each of them requiring a response or notification of receipt to be sent back immediately. Internet marketers, bloggers, forum administrators and companies all use them to manage the thousands of email that get sent to them every day.

Internet marketers use auto responding services in a variety of ways. Usually it is used whenever an inquiry or a support ticket regarding a product they market is emailed to the marketer. The auto response is usually composed in such a way that notifies the sender that the email has been received and indicates the time of arrival in the email. This assures the sender that the email was successfully sent to the marketer.Bloggers and forum administrators on the other hand use auto responders to notify their readers or forum members regarding any emails sent directly to them by the aforementioned readers and members. Support tickets as well as notifications of changes made on the site are also managed by auto responding services. Should the blogger or the forum administrator be away from the computer for an extended amount of time, they can use auto responders to inform their readers or forum members that it may take a while before their emails can be replied to as the blogger or forum administrator is on vacation.

The on vacation feature that now comes standard in all email services is one of the first examples of an auto responding feature in emails.  Companies use auto respond to take care of the thousands of emails coming into their services day in, day out. More and more companies are giving out their email address in the packaging and/or documentation of their products. Customers who are not satisfied with the product or have specific complaints about something can send emails to these addresses. In order to placate irate and dissatisfied customers, it is best to provide a prompt and immediate reply to their emails in order to keep from aggravating the situation.

Every email no matter the huge number of emails sent everyday can be replied to thanks to the auto responding feature. This is why while the complaints are queuing up in the support tracking system; the customer can be informed immediately that their complaint is being processed.  Some free email programs like Gmail has some built in auto responding features. These features are very useful to use. Like the prior mentioned vacation notification, you can use the auto respond feature to inform those that emailed you to explain why you can’t reply right away to the emails sent to you.

You can set up your auto respond email to give your explanation and every email coming into your inbox will immediately be sent that reply.

By: Paul Apartin

The shopping cart software you use will determine the success of your ecommerce store because of the functionalities it must have in order for you to do the things necessary to succeed in eCommerce. You must optimize certain aspects of your shopping cart ecommerce platform in certain areas.

To ensure your ecommerce website success you must have a plan in place and have an idea what you’re doing before you get started if not it will be a very long and hard road ahead for you. So, where do you start?

You have to make sure you choose the right shopping cart software to make sure you have the right platform to sell your product. There are many ecommerce shopping cart software companies out there so make sure you choose a reputable shopping cart. Make sure you do your research on the platform you choose as there are many resources out there for you to do so. Once you have chosen your platform, start thinking about your design and how you envision your website to look. Most ecommerce software’s have ready-to-go templates that will allow you to choose a design and can literally be up and running in minutes.

You want to make sure you already have a logo in place and it’s very important you have a nice and attractive color scheme. You must optimize your design and that starts with making sure the basic elements on your website are in the right place. One way to ensure that is use services such as CrazyEgg which is a heat map service that you can see where people are clicking the most. You can also use Google Analytics which is free of charge and also provides a site overlay that tells you where people are clicking the most. You should always be testing different buttons on your website such as ‘add to cart’ or ‘buy now’ on your products to see what is working best to make sure you’re converting at optimal levels.

Once you have a layout of your website, you should start uploading your product. Before you do so, I strongly recommend doing comparison shopping on products you are selling and really study your competition. One common mistake among many starting in ecommerce is not doing enough research on their competition. Coming into 2010, the internet has grown to be a worldwide market place and in order to survive; you must compete with the very best. When creating your products and website, it is very important to have search engine optimization in mind. Search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing literally drive millions and millions of people a day through the web to different sites.

If you are selling a product, there is a big chance there are many people out there a day looking for it and you want to make sure your site has the visibility it needs. Your site should have the right meta tags, in all the product pages. Make sure your individual products are well optimized and that is achieved by making sure your meta tags are on point starting with the title and then to the content of the product. Search Engine Optimization is something that takes time so to get instant traffic, you can start Pay-Per-Click marketing which is offered by all the three major engines. Google, Yahoo, and Bing are great traffic drivers and depending on your product and keywords you choose, that will determine how much you pay per click. It is a good marketing model as you can really see your return on investment. Now you’re ready to embark in the world of ecommerce and see how far you can take it.

Like all businesses, you must start little by little and with time and experience, you’ll see different things you can implement to your ecommerce strategy. It is essential you have the basics down to begin your ecommerce business. There is a ton of great content on ecommerce on the web, so make sure you read ecommerce publications and blogs and that should get you ahead.

The protection of domain names with the domain block

Importance of Posting Regularly in Your Blog

By: Alvin Makoani

Blogging is much fun, it is even more exciting if you are making money for it. When we are starting out we are usually psyched and tend to write or post in our blog nearly everyday. However, somewhere along the line we run out of steam and the posting frequency reduces or ceases altogether.

Many bloggers targeting Adsense do this. Write lots of posts and stop blogging at some point. You then have enough posts to make you money. Have you ever wondered how much more you could make if you continued writing quality content for your blog. You can make more money by following this path.

For one, search engines love fresh content. If you are giving the Google bot something new to index every time it visits your website, it will surely come more often. Actually, this is one of the reasons blogs get high rankings from the search engine easily compared to websites.

You probably want subscribers for your blog. Search engines sometimes are not that dependable and you could get out of the search results for the vaguest of all reasons. You will need something to fall back to. You could make do with your subscribers if this happens. Regular posting will keep those subscribers hooked.

Blogging regularly also shows commitment. It tells your readers that you are not doing blogging for the heck of it. It is also an easier way to become an authority in your niche. If you are intermittent in your posting you are definitely not getting far.

It is of paramount importance for any blogger, especially those intending to make money online or even have a bigger purpose for their blog, like using it to land a job, to post several times a week.
